How To Run Faster By Training Less

Runners can increase their speed, both short distance and long distance, by training less. If you’re interested in learning how to achieve this goal, then you might want to read on for more information.

In order to understand how this is possible, one first must get a general understanding of how the muscles in the body work with regard to overall growth. When any type of strenuous activity is performed, the muscles will go through a process during which the muscles break down and then heal themselves and rebuild in order to become stronger. The more intense the activity, the more intense the breaking down and rebuilding process is going to be.

Muscles are used in short and long distance running, and can help increase the overall speed and endurance that can be achieved. If muscles are very healthy and well formed, then the ability to run both short and long distances will be greatly improved.

In order to achieve the best muscle growth, runners must find the perfect mix of exercise and rest so that their muscles have the right amount of time to break down and rebuild after strenuous physical activity.

Here is how runners can run faster by training less.

1. Reduce the amount of training time by 20% to 30%.

It may seem strange at first, but if you reduce the time you spend training by 20% to 30%, then you will see an improvement in your speed. This is due to the fact that the reduced amount of time spent training actually allows more time for the muscles that are used during running activities to breakdown and rebuild themselves. When there is more time for this process to occur, the muscles are able to grow back stronger and healthier than before.

When runners train too much, they don’t give their muscles enough time to rebuild themselves as best as possible. In this case, the muscles used in running do not become as strong and enduring as they could be.

2. Use more short distance sprints in your training regiment.

If you want to run faster and train less, then not only will you want to reduce the amount of time that you spend training, but you might also want to consider introducing some short distance sprints into your training routine in place of another training activity. The short distance sprint exercises will help push your muscles to the limit and will intensify the breaking down and rebuilding process.

When your muscles go through a more intense workout and are also given more time to heal because you have reduced the amount of time in which you train, they will be able to grow back bigger and stronger. You will find that you are able to run faster in both short and long distances and will achieve more endurance as well.

So in the case of training for a marathon or some other running event that you might be participating in over the next few months, you might want to keep the idea in mind that less is more.
